Complaints:
Customers complaining about the food not being good enough (If they are right like hair in food or poorly cooked): We apologize for the for the gross food and offer them a free coupon for a meal or just another free meal right then.
Poorly cleaned restaurant: Offer them free dessert.
Feedback from guests: We sign up on yelp or put feedback cards at the entrance of the restaurant.
Front of the House Training:
Taking order table-side: Walk up to the customers and ask them how they’re doing. Ask them what they would like to drink, Ex. “Can I start you guys off with some drinks?” When back from getting them drinks ask if they would like to try appetizers. If yes tell cook then come back and ask if ready to order, if no ask if ready to order.
Taking reservations and requests: If through phone call reserve a table with the amount of people with group. If in person find table with enough people for the group and tell them how long of a wait and ask if that’s okay.
Suggestive Selling: If customer is looking at menu offer them your special of the day. If customer ask you what is best give them your honest opinion and tell them how amazing it is. Or if they are looking at menu just tell them what is good.
Greeting guests: Say Good Morning, Good Afternoon, or Good Evening. Ask them how they are doing and how many guests. Always smile and have positive attitude.
Serving of Alcohol: ALWAYS ID no matter how old they look. If they are 90 then no ID. HAVE TO BE 21 TO SERVE ALCOHOL.
